Mom: "Well, I typed in the earl you sent me the other day..."Teenager daughter: "You mean the URL I sent you?"

What They're Probably DoingWebsites have gotten fancier since the days of AOL's KOL. Our children are using G-mail now, since "the Google" has taken over most of the Internet's basic services. E-mail, document management, basic html websites, and image sharing are just some of the things that Google offers. So you know about google... but do you know about Facebook? Do you know what your child's status said yesterday? What about his or her blog?
Though there are plenty of bad things to do lying around online, there's a lot of good, clean fun as well. Do you have a writer in the family, and not even know it? Maybe they're not watching MTV music videos online for hours at a time. National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a writing event for teens and adults alike who like a little kick to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. That's roughly thirty days to give your life to writing, and it's no easy task. Who knows what your child has accomplished on these websites.

While there's always constructive work to be done online, there's also the more fun side of things. Gaming is becoming a bigger media monster everyday, and you need to know what type of games are online for your child. Here are a couple links to put you in the know: Social Sites:YoutubeTwitter
